It was an amazing project which got 4 million views online. We’re grateful that we were part of it and how great of an impact it had.

After unsuccessfully trying to find a new location who would adopt our art piece, we got to meet with INSEE ECOCYCLE, who have accepted to take our 168,000 straws to use it as an energy source for their cement plant through co-processing. Let’s find out how it is done in the below illustration.

This process is known to be one of the most socially and environmentally responsible methods for waste management and it goes hand to hand with the circular economy. Co-processing consists of eliminating all the waste to make energy out of them.

Check out some cute moments we captured when Zero Waste Saigon family worked with the family of INSEE ECOCYCLE here:

And that’s it! That’s the end of Strawpocalypse. We would like to thank everyone who have supported us and Von Wong from the very beginning, including our beloved volunteers all across Vietnam, Starbucks and Keppelland for sponsoring, Estella Place for the great hospitality to INSEE Ecocycle for the green solution.

Goodbye Strawpocalypse, but dont forget the message:

NO MORE PLASTIC STRAWS!
